Welcome to the wonders of rubber on metal. Until food gets between the blades and the bowl you might experience a loud squeaking. It will go away as the blades soften up a bit.
No, the scraper will draw more on the motor than a traditional beater; however no more than if making bread with the dough hook. This has been scientifically proven.
BeaterBlade is top-rack dishwasher safe. Place onto a rung upside-down. Avoid touching the blade with other kitchenware and sharp objects.
Yes, this is just the motor and gears reacting to the friction of the blades. Again, no more than making bread. You can use the height adjustment screw to lighten the blade-to-bowl contact.
This happens only in the Tilt-Head models when the "beater to bowl" clearance is too low for the locking mechanism. If the head bounces, nothing will happen to the mixer. Turning the height adjustment screw counter clockwise will lock the head fully into place, however the blades will reduce contact with the bowl.
Not every mixer is built exactly the same and with manufacturing tolerances, BeaterBlade might not work in every machine. If the BeaterBlade does not work, please contact us for assistance. You might also experience more scraping on one side of the bowl than another...again, that's just due to bowl placement.
If you have commercial needs, BeaterBlade is UL® certified to ANSI /NSF 2 commercial standards. New BeaterBlade Pro is made for rigorous commercial use and its bright yellow colour makes it easy to find in a busy kitchen.
No. BeaterBlade was specifically developed for cakes, cookies, quick breads, savoury dishes, meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Do not use it for bread dough, ultra thick cookie dough and some frozen foods. If the batter becomes too thick, revert to your traditional flat beater.
Actually, you can. Once flour is added, most cakes and cookies should not be over beaten. BeaterBlade is extremely efficient and because it accomplishes more in less time, can actually over-beat air into your batter. Run the mixer according to the instructions to get a feel for how it works and then apply it to all your favorite recipes. Usually, you'll want to run the mixer 2 speed levels lower than a traditional beater. Use aggressive mixing for creaming butter and sugar.
All fats, especially when cold, will stick to any beater no matter what it is made of. Most recipes call for room temperature ingredients. See "Tips and Tricks" to soften ingredients.
This usually happens only in the Tilt-Head models when adding a lot of food because the blades are restricted in height, unlike the lift-bowls. Running the mixer at lower speeds keeps the food lower in the bowl.
